Sunny June 2010
A wedding, a 2 year old and Bath rugby players ….
Well, what a month of sunshine - I wasn’t quite expecting that! and a varied month with my camera and other distractions – the beginning of the month was half term, so spent with the kids, and then, for some mad reason I found myself in charge of the school fete!!! No pressure like trying to organise the school fete – trust me! However, the sun shone and everyone loved it – happy bunny!
So where did I go with my camera this month? Ok, it was a varied month – which is inspiring! The highlight of June for me was definitely being in talks with Bath Rugby Club, who are looking for a new photographer …. ooh, could that be me??! Watch this space, but I seem to already have had a shoot with three of the guys – and what nice guys! The thrill of seeing my images all over the store and blown up in the window – fab fab!! Hoping to sign up as the Bath RFC photographer …. watch this space ….
I had a crazy weekend with my husband and kids camping in the forest …. several families from school signed up for a bushcraft weekend in a forest in Oxfordshire …. REAL basic …. a good break from life – no plug sockets, no computer, no email, no CAMERAS (!), no toilets …. fab! so, sorry, no photos to show you!
Huw (husband) and I managed a very rare trip away from the grind of family life to go to Wimbledon which was lovely ….. again, no photos!
I did work hard at my photography business and lots of admin got done! It was much a month of admin at the beginning, and then at the end lots of lovely photography.
In the pipeline I have several weddings booked this month for the year ahead and a product shoot for a new company setting up a ‘table top’ business.
One of my shoots in June was a great project that seems to be becoming an annual event, which is photographing the year 6 kids at our school and making a ‘year book’ for them full of photos of themselves and their friends. They have a great time signing each other’s books and putting them away as keepsakes. Huw keeps pushing me to push this as an initiative to other local schools – it seems to be so popular and it does mean that lots of families will find out who I am and what I do ….
On 26th June, I had a fab day photographing the wedding of Sheree and Dean Cottle – a highly emotionally charged wedding (read lots of tears!), with the emphasis on family …. a wonderful sunny day at Guyers House, Pickwick near Bath. A couple of days later I was in the home of Joseph Caccavale – 2 years old and DELIGHTFUL …. he led the shoot – he was totally in charge of Mum Sarah and myself, which was so much fun – look at some of the shots! A couple of days later I found myself pointing my lens at Bath rugby players … someone has to do it!! With a preggy shoot around the corner it’s heads down and working on post production for all these shoots …. I will surface shortly ….!!
Again, on the wedding front I was thrilled to hand over Joan and Andy’s beautiful Queensberry album covered in black silk (April wedding) and to see the emotion in Joan’s face when she ‘actually touched’ her wedding album. It has also been a thrill to get together with Ian and Elllie, from 1 May, to collate the photos that they want to see in their album – ooh, how I love putting albums together and reliving the weddings of these friends that I seem to make along the way!
ooh and looking forward to a family holiday in Sicily – have camera and will travel!!! SO looking forward to it and some travel photography ….
so I sign off for June …. happy hols all ….
